A first step into the desert, full of doubt, curiosity and wonder, that slowly became a life’s work.

Zule and Manlio founded Pinacate Tours in 2017 and have never stopped going back. We have travelled thousands of kilometres through the Pinacate Reserve and the Gran Desierto de Altar, sharing the transforming power of this place with hundreds of travellers.

Today we are a proudly Sonoran tour operator — a small Mexican company — recognised for innovative experiences, quality of service and absolute respect for nature. We design authentic, safe and memorable experiences that connect people with the sky, the land and themselves.

We do not sell tours. We create moments that stay with you.

How we work

We come only to look. And to leave no trace.

We operate under permit from CONANP, Mexico’s national commission for protected natural areas, inside the El Pinacate and Gran Desierto de Altar Biosphere Reserve, and we reach Tiburón Island with the authorisation and in the company of the Comcáac community.

We camp only in authorised areas. We take no plants, animals or rocks, and on arrival we explain how to move around without leaving a trace.

We would rather tell you what the trip is like beforehand, not afterwards: whether there is a bathroom, how much cash to bring, how far you walk. Honesty is part of the experience too.
